Silicone Heaters

Silicone heaters combine flexibility with reliable heat output across a wide temperature range. The range includes custom silicone heating pads and mats, gas cylinder heaters, battery heaters for vehicles and machinery, and large-format construction drying mats.

What are silicone heaters?

A silicone heater is a flexible electric heating element built from a resistance wire or etched foil element encased in silicone rubber — a material that stays pliable from –60 °C to +250 °C while resisting water, oils and most industrial chemicals. Because silicone rubber conforms to irregular surfaces without cracking, silicone heaters can be bonded, strapped or wrapped directly onto almost any object that needs heat: a gas cylinder, a battery pack, a concrete slab or a curved deck board.

Types of silicone heater

  • Silicone heating mats and pads — flat or shaped heaters for process heating, IBC and container heating, and surface applications
  • Gas cylinder heaters — silicone pads engineered for 22 kg and 33 kg LPG bottles, improving vaporisation and flow at low ambient temperatures
  • Battery heaters — low-profile silicone mats that keep lithium and lead-acid packs inside their safe operating temperature window in vehicles, machinery and off-grid systems
  • Construction drying mats — large-format heating mats for accelerating the structural drying of concrete, screed and masonry

Silicone heaters vs. other heating technologies

Silicone heaters run at lower watt densities than cartridge or mica heaters, which means more even heat distribution and less risk of hot spots. The flexible envelope eliminates the air gap that limits mica and ceramic heaters on uneven surfaces. Unlike heat tape, a silicone heater mat covers a defined area with a uniform heating profile — no cold patches, no bundling.

Technical overview

  • Operating range: –60 °C to +250 °C
  • Voltage: 12 V, 24 V, 48 V, 110 V, 230 V single-phase; three-phase on request
  • Power: from under 100 W to over 1,900 W per unit
  • Control options: bi-metal thermostat, digital temperature controller, PT100 sensor, or adjustable overheating cut-out
  • Construction: fibreglass-reinforced silicone rubber, etched-foil or resistance-wire element, PTFE-insulated leads

Typical applications

  • LPG and gas cylinder heating at filling stations, forklift depots and process plants
  • Battery pre-heating in EVs, energy storage systems and cold-climate machinery
  • Structural drying of concrete and masonry after flooding or new construction
  • Drum and IBC viscosity management for resins, waxes, syrups and adhesives
  • Sub-zero equipment protection in telecoms cabinets and outdoor enclosures
  • Deck board bending, composite forming and marine fit-out

Standard and custom-built

Standard silicone heaters are available for the most common applications. Where no standard product fits — which is most serious heating jobs — we design and build silicone heaters to specification: your dimensions, your power density, your control strategy, your voltage. From a single prototype to a production run. Lead times are short; the engineering is done in-house.

Why buy silicone heaters from HeatXperts

We design and manufacture silicone heaters in Europe. Every heater is specified by an engineer who understands the duty, built in small series or as a one-off, and tested before it leaves the workshop. One point of contact for the heater, the controller, the cabling and the accessories — and technical support you can reach by phone.
