ATEX & hazardous area heating

Practical engineering guidance on ATEX classification, equipment certification and the design of heating and transfer systems for classified environments.
Based on real installations and operational requirements.

Most ATEX compliance issues arise at the interface between equipment, installation and system design — not in certification alone.

What ATEX means in practice

ATEX is the European framework for equipment used in atmospheres where explosive gas, vapour or dust may be present. Equipment used in classified areas must be certified to the correct equipment category, protection concept and temperature class for the specific zone — and the responsibility for correct selection rests with the equipment user, not only the manufacturer.

Zone 0 Continuous explosive atmosphere   Zone 1 Occasional risk   Zone 2 Rare, short-duration risk

ATEX expertise built into every system

HeatXperts designs and manufactures ATEX-certified heating systems for Zone 1 and Zone 2 environments. Classification, protection concept, element geometry and certification documentation are determined at the design stage — not retrofitted after the fact.

Every system is built with the certification trail the installation requires: component certificates, declarations of conformity and system documentation matched to the zone drawing of the site.
