ATEX Grounding Reel is an explosion-proof self-retracting bonding reel designed for temporary protective equipotential bonding in hazardous areas.
The reel is used to prevent dangerous electrostatic discharge during filling, emptying or maintenance operations involving tanks, containers, tank trucks and process equipment in explosive atmospheres.
Purpose – Preventing ignition risks
During transfer of flammable liquids, gases or powders, electrostatic charges may accumulate. The ATEX grounding reel ensures reliable potential equalization before operations begin, reducing ignition risks caused by static discharge.
The reel must be connected before opening tanks, connecting hoses or starting transfer operations.
Certification & ATEX Approval
- ATEX Certificate: BVS 25 ATEX E 064
- IECEx Certificate: IECEx BVS 25.0064
- ATEX Marking (Gas): II 2G Ex h IIC T6 Gb
- ATEX Marking (Dust): II 2D Ex h IIIC T80°C Db
- Approved for Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22

The equipment is suitable for explosive gas atmospheres including hydrogen (IIC) and conductive dust environments.
