ATEX Cable Reel CR27 – 3-Pole 16A, 20m, Multi-Socket

ATEX Cable Reel CR27 – 3-Pole 16A is an explosion-proof cable reel designed for safe temporary power distribution in hazardous areas classified as Zone 1 and Zone 2 (gas atmospheres).

Compared to the CR17 model, the CR27 features a larger 270 mm winding body and is configured as a multi-socket distribution reel. It is equipped with 20 meters of EPR/PUR cable (3x2.5 mm²) and available with either 2× or 3× 3-pole 16A flange sockets (6h position).

The unit is certified according to ATEX and IECEx requirements and marked II 2G Ex db eb IIC T6 Gb.

Explosion-proof construction

The CR27 cable reel is designed for demanding industrial environments where explosion protection compliance and mechanical robustness are essential. The winding body is manufactured from conductive EPDM and integrates certified Ex components in accordance with EN IEC 60079 standards.

The welded stainless-steel enclosure forms the Ex connection compartment in type of protection “Ex eb” (increased safety). Installed flange sockets comply with flameproof “Ex db” and increased safety requirements, ensuring reliable operation in hazardous gas atmospheres.

The cable reel is approved for use in explosive gas atmospheres in Zones 1 and 2. It is not approved for dust explosive atmospheres.

Operational Requirements

To prevent overheating, the cable reel must always be operated with the cable fully unwound. Installation and electrical connection must be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with EN IEC 60079-14 and applicable national regulations.

Residual current protection (RCD) is required depending on the installation system (TT, TN or IT). Only cables suitable for unprotected industrial installation (minimum H07 requirement) may be used.
